Curiosidades.
- El gran hotel Budapest se convierte en la película más premiada de la historia de los Pino de Plata con tres galardones. Además, dos películas se llevan dos premios: Interestelar (los ya clásicos pares sonido-efectos visuales) y Borgman (los dos intérpretes protagónicos, que quedaron empatados).
- Apertura de la categoría de actor joven (-21) por género, lo que permite mayor número de nominados y premiados.
- El director ganador del certamen, James Ward Byrkit, tiene varias particularidades. Primero, se trata de una ópera prima. Segundo, es una película de un género habitualmente desfavorecido como la ciencia ficción. Tercero, triunfa en la única categoría a la que estaba nominada la película, y es precisamente la más importante.
- La gran aventura Lego le da al cine animado el premio más importante de los Pino de Plata hasta la fecha: el de mejor guión.
- Joe Hisaishi se estrena en los premios con doble nominación y triunfa por una de ellas en mejor banda sonora.
